Description
Like many late Renaissance and early Baroque era composers, Hans Leo Hassler (1564-1612) studied in Italy early in his career, and his later works reflect a combination of German counterpoint and the innovations of the Venetian polychoral style. This transcription of Hassler’s original choral work for brass quintet features moderate ranges and technical challenges. It works well for developing ensembles or gigging musicians who are looking for new repertoire for church services and other festive occasions.
