Description

Louis Moreau Gottschalk was among the first American composers to infuse European classical piano traditions with New World music influences (music of slaves, Creole music, folk music, and Latin American dances). Pasquinade (“a satire delivered in a public space”) was composed in 1869 and works well as an exciting yet light concert piece.
