Description
Ludwig Maurer (1789-1878) was a German composer and virtuoso violinist. Originally written for 2 cornets, 2 horns, and trombone, his Twelve Little Pieces (or 12 Kleine Stücke) are among the earliest music written specifically for brass quintet. The first 3 movements of this composition have long been part of the standard quintet repertoire, and this new edition includes all 12 of Maurer’s little pieces in a single collection.
